"To Jesus With Love"

The Silver Altar in the southern wing of the cathedral is a popular site for individual worship. Quite frequently visitors either put flowers by the sculpture or a written prayer in the hands of Jesus or one of the disciples. Next to the sculpture there is globe where the worshippers can light candles.

The silver sculpture The Last Supper , L'ultima Cena, was made by the the Italian sculptor Arrigo Minerbi (1881-1960). His most famous piece of art is the bronze doors of the famous cathedral in Milan.

The Silver Altar is unique by the fact that it is one of the few sculptures dipicting The Last Supper that is cast in one pice.The sculpture was made in Milan i 1903, and our version is in 2/3 of the original scale. It is 2,8 metres long, 0,8 meteres tall and weighs about 300 kilos.
