Stavanger Cathedral

The Stavanger Cathedral is the oldest cathedral in Norway.

Stavanger Cathedral

It was built around 1125 and was consecrated to the Trinity and St. Svithun of Winchester. St. Svithun was a saint living in England, who died in 862. Due to the name “St. Svithun”, Stavanger and Winchester have been closely related ever since.
